Learn how to set your image size and resolution in Photoshop:
Photoshop/ Monitor Resolution
Printed Image Resolution
Dimensions: The total number of pixels across the width and height of an image.
Resolution: The number of image pixels per inch when an image is printed, measured in pixels per inch (ppi). The more pixels per inch, the higher the resolution and the better the printed quality.
Changing dimensions or resolution: Remember that the image data remains constant until you resample. Changing the resolution will change the width and height to maintain the same amount of image data.
Image size and resolution relationship: The Image Size dialog box shows the relationship between image size and resolution.
2- To access the Image Size dialog box:
Go to Image > Image Size.

The Auto option provides standard interpolation. For more control, use the other options, each designed for different image resizing needs.
